About Me

I was born in Hampshire, (now living in Sussex) my maiden name being Fiona Trewinnard, and although I drew as a child, art was to become a major part of my life later on

I began my working life, with horses, but then after a secretarial course, I joined the Royal Air Force.  I resigned my commission on marriage and moved overseas.  It was then that I began to take an interest in art, mostly to fill my time.

Always passionate about animals, it was a natural progression to begin painting them and art has now become a major driving force for me.

I use a variety of mediums, pencil, acrylic, pastel being my favourite ones, though I have been known to use watercolour on the 'odd' occasion.  I am also branching out into oils too!

I have paintings in collections as far afield as Australia, America and Switzerland.   One of my paintings was included in the IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) calendar, 2007.

I regularly exhibit with a number of different Art Societies, usually in the south of England, the biggest of these exhibitions being the annual Marwell International Wildlife Art Society (MIWAS) exhibition in Hampshire
In 2008, I joined a small group of artists from MIWAS on safari in Tanzania to see, first hand, the beauty and magnificence of the African wildlife.   The following
year I joined the group again,  in Botswana.  Later this year, I return with the same group to Botswana to camp wild in the bush.   An experience that is just
awesome in the true sense of the word.  Last year we were lucky enough to 'walk
with lions' and interact with cheetah.  A real close up experience!

My thanks to my ever-patient husband for encouraging me to go!
